     I'm running protools 8 in mac 10.6. I don't need the networking stuff, so will the free VE work ok in RTAS?

    Should work fine. It is free to download if you've already got one of the VSL libraries so you can always give it a try and see.

    I'm also using Pro-Tools 8 and loving it with using VSL. Just a shame that it's still a 32 bit app though. But hopefully they'll sort that out soon and we can host everything we like within Pro-Tools. The RTAS plugs are really surprisingly good to work with. Plus Pro-Tools is SUCH a dream to mix with.  Till recently I've been using only Logic but I don't think I'll ever use Logic to do a final mix again.
