  • I need a little help with Vienna Instruments...Please?

Are they good for r&b? If so what vienna intruments should I buy with only 600 bucks to spend. Does it operate well with cubase 5? And what kind of computer would you recommend? Thanks.

  • Most users start off with the Special Edition because it includes

a full orchestra with the most widely used playing techniques :

    Here are its content:

    Here are the computer requirements:

If you are feel you need more then you can purchase the add-on

    Extended library.

If you then need more articulations you can then move up to the

    Special Edition Plus product line:

    http://vsl.co.at/en/211/261/314/1606/1278.htm

At that point if you need more instruments or articulations

you can buy the "full" or bigger libraries that the Special Editions

    originate from.

Its generally recommend that you use a PC or Mac that is as

powerful as you can afford to buy, with a separate hard drive

for the samples, and tons of RAM. Preferably a 64-bit system.

    Hope that all helps.

Because the samples were recorded naked and dry they can be placed in any sonic environment you have plug ins for.  So, yes, they can be used for r&b, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Polka-Hip Hop-Rap fusion, or whatever you want.

    Hello Fredflight24

Welcome in the family of VSL

Most of the demos here are classical ones. So here is a link to my homepage.

Listen to "U-Music". Most of the pieces are produced with Samples of VSL (Strings, Brass, Woodwinds,...)

Cubase: No problem!  Beside Logic it is the main DAW when it comes to use samples of VSL.

If you want to buy a 64-Bit System then it is a PC, Windows 7, Quadcore (Xeon), 8 - 16 GB RAM, Cubase 5.1 ...

If you to produce "light music", rock etc I recommend the SE-Library or a full String-Library (Chamberstrings).

You will get a complete string Library with a lot of articulations.

So you have really good strings on hand - beside Drums, Guitars and Synths of your Daw.

    All the best
