  • Problem with Brass Legato.

My test project is a mp four part exercise 3/2 time , all whole and half notes as andante.  Tpts soprano and alto, Trbs tenor and bass.

As the sounds move from one note to the next, there is a sort of thump that occurs at the beginning of each new attack.

    Tpts using 01 Tr-3_sus-p, trbs using 01 TB-3_sus_p, tuba 03 TU_sus_fm_no_vib

Does anyone have any ideas about how I could eliminate the thump that happens between notes?

    Thanks,

    James Ferguson

  • Yes, I've heard this little thump myself on my Brass I collection and also my Woodwinds I  If it's the same thump I'm thinking of, you can conceal it by increasing your attack/release times and/or adding reverb.  If that doesn't work than post an example and lets have a listen.

  •  Thanks Jasen.  I will give your suggestion a try.  Jim Ferguson

  • Could that thump be a release sample? Have you tried turning them of?
