    Hello guys!

    I'm using a 6600 as sequencer. I wanted to get the MIR but I think I will wait for the full version Q4 2009 because I need network wiring.

    So now I have a i7 "free" I was wondering if I should use it for Cubase 5 or keep it for VE3 therefor VE3 pro ?

    I have the 6600 with 8 gigs of Ram and the i7 with 12 gigs.

    By the way, I still don't know what the best hard drive configuration to get the best performance for VE. Will the WD velociraptor is good enough or should I make a Raid (0+1 or 5) with another 2 velociraptor?

     i think the decision is easy - more RAM means more samples loaded means better for Vienna Ensemble.

    with the VelociRaptors you have already the best you can get - i would not raid them, just spread the content in a useful manner.

    however I'm still wondering. Velociraptor is quite a monster but compare with samsung F1, it doesn't seem to give it hell.

    between these configurations, what are the best knowing that I'm planning to run LOTS of VI from the whole library :

    (percussions will be on another HD because I don't need so much speed)

    Config 1:
    3 velociraptors with strings on 1st, woods on 2nd, brass on 3d

    Config 2 :
    3 Velociraptors in RAID 0 (fastest) with the whole library

    config 3 :
    same as 1 with F1

    config 4 :
    same as 2 with F1

    Will velociraptor be this much useful?
