Did you run Directory Manager for both VI and VE again? Did you re-boot, repair permissions etc.?

  • did all that, all instruments still empty. I reverted to 1.14, everything works as before.

  • abel, there was a mac/PC compatibility issue with cubase/nuendo projects which we suggested to be fixed as early as possible ...

IIRC calling the *older* VST component should work transparently, but obviously this doesn't happen in your case ... maybe you could send us the respective project to investigate in detail ... and sorry for the inconvenience

  • The project was created from scratch in N4 on Mac. To which address should I send the file? Do you guys plan on making VI a VST3 plugin?

  • i sent you details via email ...

VST3 ... of course VSL keeps track of innovative development, though i can't speak for the developers and beta-testers when we will see something and what compatibility issues might arise .... VST3 has been introduced january ... ;-) my feeling currently is that VISTA64 audio as such will keep all developers busy for a while ...

No No No!! 64 Bit Mac development should be keeping them busy. Those Windows lads already have their solution. Julian

To be fair, I think that until there are some 64bit sequencers available for Mac, you might be waiting a while for any of the plugin developers to provide 64bit versions of their plugs. However, assuming that Apple has released the necessary code, there is no reason (that I can see) why there couldn't be a 64bit version of VE, and of other applications that can work in standalone mode.

I think that I've also read that Leopard doesn't necessarily need 64bit drivers, so that might speed things up a bit.

  • understand it as reply to the VST3 question - of course mac 64bit development is ongoing ...
