Well .. Now I've got hold of it I should certainly get this all out on the podcast so those who do not yet have the VI's can get some info. Man I'm loving it. I like way you can dislodge a window into it's own .. (You can make the mixer panel have it's own window .. as well as doing that with the Instruments Panels ... so damned cool. You'll have to give me some time to play with it though. If anyones nice and quick and has a demo tune they'd like to show on the podcast .. let me know and send it to me. May take me a while to totally learn this thing. Heto

Does it really need its own Directory Manager, in addition to VI Directory Manager?
-
Hi Heto,
this conflict is exactly what´s causing the delay. Yes, I suggest to uninstall your VE on Mac OS X and wait for the valid version. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Drew: yes, the new VE Directory Manager is necessary, due to compatility issues with different operating systems.

I downloaded the Ensemble for mac, too, and it says 'Vienna Ensemble Service Not Available", and it seems that the normal VI is no longer working. Should I uninstall Ensemble?

To uninstall you should just use the Uninstaller that was put in your Applications folder ... I had some problems re-installing the software which I solved by moving the Vienna Instruments 1.12 installer receipt (from the Library folder into the trash .... makes it think it never installed it so it reinstalls the lot.

I got on the Apple website, and they said that most applications can be uninstalled just by moving them into the trash. So I searched for all the Vienna Ensemble folders and moved them into the trash. This will not cause problems, will it?

I'll get my assistant to install it in the XP64 slave and see how it performs. If it works well then I'll transfer it to my main studio setup. It does look very promising, although I'm sure that it will take a bit of setting up. I also have to deal with FXT64 and Nuendo 4.1, so I think that the main studio upgrade (including a new machine, once I see how all this works) will take a couple of weeks.
