  • JWL - I just read a couple threads about your syncrosoft issues and install problems.

Dude, you have the patients of a saint and I'm sorry if I seemed argumentative with you even a tiny bit!

May your syncrosoft/DP/install issues be solved soon!

Ed, you're a champ and a trooper, dude.

Yep, we've got LCC issues big time. VI is completely down for the count for a few days. I've got to finish a demo and spent half of today getting VSL-PE winds back up and running. For the rest I have no choice but to use Miroslav Philharmonik. I was tempted to jump in on EQELSO since Soundsonline.com has a discount that ends Thursday night at midnight, but another $3500 would get me into a MacPro, which I'd rather have.

Actually, it looks as if I'll be involved in a dimploma program that will qualify me for educational discounts. Between that and possible cross-grades, I could be looking at Nuendo and a whole non-MOTU audio/midi setup sooner than later.

I have Logic, and though it's a little more savvy with virtual instruments, I'm splitting up tasks between DAWs. It's a pain, but no matter how patient I try to be I can't shake the shadow of depression that all of this software sends me flying headlong into a brick wall more often than I care to confess.

Punchline to an old joke: "What? And give up show business?"

All I know is that to lose hope is to lose. To miss a deadline is to lose, as well!

    But what can you do?

  • VSL -- I know you're all working very hard on this, but any ETA yet, or any hopeful news in general such as you've found (or MOTU) what's causing the problem are are implementing a fix? Would appreciate being kept in the loop.

    Many thanks,
    Gary

  • Dear Gary,

the problem is presently being investigated. As soon as I have received further details we will let you know immediately.

    Thx for your patience.

  • Thanks Maya!

  • I am running DP 5.1 and have not had any problems with VI loading up when I go back to a project! In fact, it has been very stable. I LOVE the program!

    Peace

    rikp

  • RIKP - re loading a project is not the problem so what your are describing does not address what this bug is.
Try bouncing a VI track to an audio track - does the vi retain its presets ??

This is a issue I've been having for months using Vienna Instruments in Digital Performer (versions from 4.61 to 5.01). Occasionally, all the VIs in the DP session file lose their preset assignments. Last night, I had 15 VI tracks in DP, I left the computer for about an hour, came back and all the VI presets were gone. I had been working with the file for days, saving it every 15 minutes on the average. None of the other instruments like Kontakt (in that same session) lost their presets. Their was nothing I could do to get them back other than manually reloading them again.

    Thanks,
    Gary
