There are very few things that PT can do that Nuendo can't, but the opposite is not true. PT MIDI is improving, but is light years behind that of Cubase/Nuendo/Logic/Sonar/DP. The only reason to switch is to be compatible with someone else who insists on PT, or because you want to use certain plug-ins. Dietz is both a Nuendo and PT expert, so I'm sure that he will chime in.
The other thing to remember is that PT is a closed system and is hugely expensive. This means that you are tied to Digi, whatever their upgrade prices. Also your plug-ins won't work with anything else, so this is another reason that you won't be able to jump ship.
Oh yes, and VI is not available for PT yet [:D]
