  • Performance Tool

    Hi everyone,

I have installed VSL (Complete Orchestral Package/ First Edition) a few days ago. Now I am working through the Performance Tool. My question:
Is there any way during life-play to change between the Legato-, Repetition- and Alteration-Modes?
    It has to be..., hopefully.
I run Logic 5.5 and Giga/VSL on one PC.
    Many thanks for your informations!

I agree. And we are aware of this limitation. And we are working on it, but I´m afraid this will take some time (also because of technical limitations...)

    Best wishes, Paul

  • Paul,

This issue falls into something I've been thinking about with the EXS24 too. That it would be nice if the Performance Tool worked only on the layers you specified somehow. Like if the Performance Tool could be activated by some "master" keyswitches or controller#s, and when switched to another layer it would "turn off".

The reason for this is so that you could make, for instance, a VIOLINS-ALL which would also include at least the Legato Violins. But of course it would be great to extend this also to the capability of having Repetition, Legato, and Alternation tools on the same set of layerings as well.

It must be really frustrating for you guys to have to wait for technical advances by other corporations to realize your dreams and endeavors. I mean is there any thoughts, at least stemming from frustration, in writing your own VSTi or AudioUnit plugin and calling it a day? With the speeds of computers as such, a from scratch direct-from-disk sample playback unit with all the custom enginering thus far famously indicitive of the VSL team, it really shouldn't take more than 6 months to 1 year of R&D?

Any thoughts on that and/or the Perf Tool issue above Paul?
