    Hi all,

    I'm just new on the forum. I'm not using VSL :/
    But not for the moment, because I have heard all mp3 demos and I Like them.
    I'm french, I don't have any studio or work professional on the music, I'm just playing music at me for my hobby. I love Soundtrack, Original Sound Track ... and so I ever search sound for Orchestral. I think all are here now [:)]

    I don't understand why VSL Team don't project to make their own interface.
    A standalone interface compatible with VST, DX, RTAS, MAS, etc... for Win, OS9, OSX etc ..
    A big project like VSL can develop a interface able to load sample. Like the Yellow Tools Culture Software for example. (Ok, I think it's not stand alone). A Interface able to load sample and set of sample when you can change some parameters for 16 multi midi channel.
    The interface can be use de GS format. It will be more easy to port the VSL on new interface.

    It just my 2 cents

    I have searched, and found that NI Kompakt can load Gigasampler or EXS File Library. Does it work really good [*-)]:

    Because it cheap (something like 180 $/€) and can run in stand alone, on Win, on Mac, with different plug-in model : VST 2, DX, RTAS, AU, etc... [:P] [[:|]] [:D]

    And there is the big brother : Kontakt can be the same, and more (16 multitimbrality), but there is a little bit much expensive (something like 360 $/€)

    And for Kompakt or Kontakt the polyphony is 256 voices [:)]

    If the import really works, it may be just necessary to load gigasampler or EXS samples onto NI software.

    I can see :
    Key switch : Playback and Editing for Kontakt, Just Playback for Tompakt.

    If everyone has Kontakt and VSL (I don't have yet), can he tell us if the import works good ?

    I hope that I can to buy it someday. It's expensive for a simple musician not professional, and not rich [:)] [:D]
    But I think the price is good. Because it's a really big and nice work.

    At the moment we can only recommend our native programmings for Gigastudio and EXS.

    Of course Kontakt/Kompakt is hot plattform, and I'm sure in the near future missing programming elements, which are important for our library will be supported. For example the option of assigning two different dimension controllers at the same time.

    A simple convertion of a complex libraries is not so easy. So I would not expect, that a native gigastudio version works without any problems on a different plattform.
    One major problem are naming conventions.
    Mac OS only supports 31 strings. (including the file extension).
    So hybrid plattforms (windows and OSX) have to follow this restriction.

    Most conversion programms simple cut the end of the name, so you are loosing the important key informations at the end of each wav name.

    Ok, the VSL has come before with GS format. And now ? why convert all library on EXS format ? What EXS plus offer ?
