     I have a 298 Gig SATA drive that has 48,4 gig free space left.

    I don't want to put any more VST instruments on this, so I need a new hard drive. I already have the normal main one, and the secondary one, which I have just mentioned, so I need to buy an external SATA drive.

    If I want to eventually have the Vienna Instrument Woodwinds 1/2, Brass 1/2, Solo strings, Percussion, and Chamber Strings, and Borsendorfer, what would be the gig size I would need to run these?

    I can get a 400 gig  drive, but it's fairly expensive - approx   $400 Australian. The next one down is a 320 gig drive for $237.

    The previous product profiles had the number of gigs that each product had, but at the moment, as the website is still being worked on, these are not avaliable at the moment, so I'm hoping someone who has knowledge of these maybe able to give me some more details.

    Hi Steve. The VI sizes are:

    Woodwinds 1 41.6GB

    Woodwinds 2 44.8GB 

    Brass 1 56.8GB

    Brass 2 39.1 GB

    Solo Strings 55.7GB

    Percussion 51.3GB

    Chamber Strings 29.3GB

    Borsendorfer 36.7GB

    These are the sizes of the full (standard+extended) libraries as shown by my PC. The samples compress down in a 24>16 ratio when installed, so the real life numbers are 150% larger!

     Hi again,

    Once I have an external hardrive connected, is it possible to attache another one later on - so that you would have 2 connected? [well, 3 extra really, as when the ACER company built my computer for me, the extra hardrive is inside the main "box" if you know what I mean - and that would imply that I would have 1 298 gig SATA drive, and two 320 SATA 3.0Gb/s hard drive [7200 RPM] connected via USB ports.

    If one can do this, and they are both connected via a USB port, is this going to be a strain somewhat on the computer power?

    Has anyone out there got more than 2 external hard drives connected?
