  • Please help with this Sibelius mess...

    [[:|]]

This is an incredible program, and I love it, but it doesn't take long before the score is riddled with control messages that I can't keep track of. Is there some feature or plugin that will "clean up" these messages, or should I have been placing them more carefully from the beginning? [:O]ops:

Yes, I'm aware that they can be hidden - I just need to organize them.

  • Can you explain why you need these messages and how they were created?

I really don't understand what kind of dynamics you want there. These messages seem to fight each other at times. At least a lot of notes should not be heard, since the modwheel is set to 1.
The most logical I would see is that you want the first two 16th notes from a group of of four played soft and then the other two loud. I would delete all the hidden messages and assign clear ones. Get rid off all the p, f, pf as you don't need them anyway if you have a modwheel controlled instrument. Just assign the first 16th not a ~C1,1 and the third ~C1, 100 if that's the values you want. Then copy this to all the groups. That would be already a third of the messages.

The beauty of Sibelius 5 is that I doesn't need hidden messages anymore...

  • Yeah, I've already realized how idiotic I was last night, and didn't need eight million messages like that (obviously). So I deleted 90% of them, and it's sounding much better.

I'm new to the program, and I'm still learning. [:D]
