    Hello

    1. I reinstalled VI software v1.10 after my Vienna Instuments .dll file corrupted. I ran the Uninstaller first.

    2. My App. Strings factory presets are visible, but no Special Edition presets.
    (my Custom presets are safe - I backed them up).

    3.I have re-scanned Directory Manager

    4.I have restarted the PC several times.

    5.Licence Control Centre shows all my licences for my USB dongle

    6.Special Edition dat files are still on the drive.

    7.If I load one of my Custom presets, there is no sound. The VI is not "seeing" the dat files.

    Please help!

    Are you sure that the drive letter has remained the same? With my system it all depends what drives I have running, as the drive letter seems to change.

    More info:

    1.Trying to run the Library Installer for Special Edition, hoping that it will "find" the .dat files for SE.

    2.It asks for "package info".

    3.I direct it to the DVD drive containing DVD 1/4. It finds the package info file.

    4.I get "The following licence is needed to install this package: Special Edition Basic".

    5.My Vienna Key shows both Standard & Extended Licences. Why is it not recognizing them?

    6.And why is App. Strings working perfectly, but not SE?

    This is really urgent for me - please help.

    Hi DG - thanks for responding!

    Not sure what you mean. When I rescan Directory Manager, it is showing my Special Edition sound content as D:\\Vienna Instruments\\100 SpecialEdition - which is correct (my dat files are on Drive D).

    Any other suggestions?

    Really? Early ones won't even recognise SE as far as I know........ However, we're on at least version 5 by now, so I can't believe that you're running what you think you are.

    I think that you may be on 4.9.7.2. If this is the case, then you need to update, because you can't run SE with a Syncrosoft driver that is 20 months old.

    I must be mistaken, cos it was running SE fine before the reinstall.

    I looked in C:\\Program Files\\Syncrosoft.

    I have got v5.2.8.0.

    Can I just run the exe file without buggering up anything else?

    All fixed!

    Uninstalled Syncrosoft. Reinstalled v5.2.8.0.

    Uninstalled VI software. Reinstalled VI software.

    Now the Presets are back.
