  • Hello again!

I allow myself to post this again, as you are probably very busy

so I did as Christian prescribed, un-installed and re-installed Vienna, permissions are verified on all disks. (See prevoius threads)

I can still not load any patches or matrices!

I apreciate any help on this. It hasn´t worked for me yet..!

    thanks,

    Henrik

  • Hi Henrik. While you're waiting for guidance from VSL, may I ask you a couple of questions?

    1. When you start up the VI standalone, do you see any matrices or patches listed under 'Matrix Assign' and 'Patch Assign'? (In the PC version the VI shows the SE matrices listed in a folder called '/Special Edition - MATRIX files'; the SE patches are in a folder called 'Special Edition patches'.)

    2. How many .dat files do you see in the SE folder? (The PC version has 113, inside a folder called '100 SpecialEdition'.)

Hmmm, Henrik, I don´t understand what´s going on. Could you please send me a screenshot of your LCC main window and another one of a VI instance. Moreover I will need your System Profile - please select "About this Mac" from your Apple Menu and click on "More Info..." to open the System Profiler. When everything is loaded, please save the profile through File/Save as and send it to me please.

Please go through our tutorial video <Register & Install> to make sure that everything is installed properly..

I sent you a PM with my mail address.

    Best,

    Maya

  • same here, spent half a day now trying to get special edition to work on a customer's new imac. reinstalling, deleting prefs, checking permissions, killing processes before running dir manager again and restarting several times: no go, all i get is empty presets.
what's puzzling me: if i set a directory in dir manager and click on presets it doesn't show anything to load. and "rescan existing" doesn't seem to do anything as well.
i'd be grateful for any working advice.

  • I have the same problem too.
    No presets.

@ p.nuts and MikeLemon: I doubt that you have exactly the same problem like skram. If VI doesn´t see its content it helps to "reassign" the content as follows:

    1. Restart your computer

    2. Open Vienna Instruments Directory Manager and remove all (!) folders from your Directory Manager and add them again by Drag & Drop from your finder.

Just only pressing rescan won´t help. It is in fact necessary to remove all folders and to add them again by Drag & Drop from finder.

  • Yes, I tried that but it didn't help.
It's working in Cubase now, because I plugged the dongle in a different USB-Slot. Seems like that was the problem in Cubase somehow.
I still have no sound in the Standalone-Player through my DIGI 003 Rack.
But I started my own thread for that ...

  • WORKING!

Downloaded the latest Syncrosoft Licence Control update..

Thanks for your time and efforts on this!

did that a dozen times already with no effect. other strange thing: if i re-open the directory manager it is always empty. shouldn't it show me the folders i've set last time ?
sounds a lot like messed up permissions to my mind, but both fixing with disk utilities and manually checking the usual suspects didn't help so far. maybe you have a hint where it might try to write to - except user prefs and application support ?

  • download the latest Licence Control Center update from the Syncrosoft website. That sorted my problem out, which sounds similar to yours..

  • Have you tried rebuilding the startup drive's directory with Alsoft's DiskWarrior 4 (starting from the CD)? If not, I would try this. In my experience, DiskWarrior has often fixed otherwise seemingly insoluble problems.
