  • Vienna, Protools and FX Pansion Wrapper - It's working!!!!!

    Hey All,

I just updated to PTHD 7.3.1.CS3, loaded my wrapped VST version of the instrument, and everything seems to be working. I have four instruments running with no latency!

I'll post more if I run into any problems, but as of now, everything seems to be working as expected in protools.

    More to come...

  • Thanks very much for the info!

  • Nothing new so far. Question is how many instances of the VI you can run inside Protools? 4? 10? 30? [:)]

  • As of now, I seem to be getting the same number of instances that I was able to get in Logic or DP on the same machine - completely system and program dependent.

  • Sounds great CSG. [:D]

What computer do u run, how much RAM, what HDs and finally, how many VIs can u run (playing samples) without any hickups, clicks, pops, what have you?

  • Ok used the day today to start some testing on this, and I started with running a session on 7.3.1 and got some very very unimpressive results. Then I updated PT to 7.3.1cs3 and amazingly got much better results (though still completely unsatisfactory and below what would be possible on Logic or Cubase). I could run 12 VIs instead of 5 on my G5 dual 2Ghz, but notes were still hanging and the stabillity not good enough for serious work, but still it's an improvement. [8-)]

In other news, Digidesign has finally admitted they know the RTAS format is having problems, and say they are working to address it - but that's the same corperate BS they always say. [:D]

  • Vagn,

What buffer size are you running on the system? I've been testing at 512K and seem to be getting better results on my 2 Gig G5 than you.

  • I tried both 512 and 1024, and both have unacceptable performance.
