Who am I ...  who am I ... to be or not to be.... yes, I want to be merged, please ... sounds really promising .... whom will I become .... oh, I'm so excited...

  • Is there and eta on then the site will be fully functional again? Not binding, just today, tomorrow, etc.

Especially the new video tutorials. Tantalising stuff.

  •  The cookie doesn't seem to work properly. Every time I go to the forum *all* thread are marked as new.

  •  When I try to edit my recent post I get:

    Oops something went wrong!

Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too."

  • i noticed some html tags with an id have been in your post which i have removed ... i can edit on all browsers and all systems ... ok, i've not tested opera ....

your cookies might be damaged .. i heard from a safari user this morning that after deleting the cookie(s) verything was fine again (clear chache also helps)

    (double check editing post)

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  •  Editing works now again for me. I deleted all VSL cookies and see later if it helped for the "marked as new" thing.

  • thanks for the notice ... accounts merged (a bug showed up not adding the number of posts from both accounts, will be fixed)

  • The 'edit tags' link seems hideously broken, at least on Firefox 2.

When I click it, it creates a text input box at the bottom margin of the browser window, but only the top portion of the box is visible, and there are no controls or labels visible. I can't scroll the area that includes this box, and if I try to resize the browser window to make more of it visible, it promptly vanishes.

Meanwhile, as I edit this post, I clicked on 'Select Tags...', and this created a pseudo-pop-up box with black text on a midnight-blue background, which is a bit too unreadable for my poor human vision.

    Oo-er!

So, I put 'forum problem tagging' in the Tags input box, thinking that it would work like del.icio.us, where each word becomes a separate tag. However, the forum appears to have treated the whole input line as a single tag, which looks stupid as forum problem tagging . And I find I can't fix this, because '[Edit tags]' gives me a text input box that thwarts all my attempts at editing it, while 'Edit' on the post leads to an Oops server error message.

So, can some kind system administrative elf please fix my post by either deleting the tag, or converting it into three, as I intended? Thanks.

Meanwhile, what is supposed to be the way to enter multiple tags? Separated by commas? Quoted?

It's not a bug, it's a feature [;)]. This way it is possible to make multi word tags. To separate the tags, please use a comma between the words.

     Done.

  • Thanks.

By the way, I notice that the favicon for the community pages is different from the rest of the site, and doesn't resemble the VSL logo; is this intentional?

Please clear the cache of your Browser. Then it should be ok. Or you just wait for some more days, until your Browser refreshes its cache automatically.

Sorry for the inconvience. We are working on it. Please give us some more days.

  • I see in the screenshot in this topic that there should be a set of buttons for text eg: B I U ABC etc - all the bold, italic, lists, url stuff that we need. I'm posting this from Safari on a Mac and these buttons don't even appear! Also, when I made a post earlier, there were no paragraph spaces. For example, I will insert a double [return] here. See - no gap. Are these Safari problems? Regards - Colin

  •  Update:

I am now posting from Netscape 7.1 and I DO see the buttons and I definitely  can use underline, bold etc.

These do NOT work in Safari for some reason. [8o|]

I couldn't even get the smileys in Safari, so I was not able to fully express my frustration....

Should be working now (at least better). We are aware that there are still some posts missing. Still working on that issue.
