  • Hi Stig,

sorry to hear that you're facing problems. Of course MIR is not supposed to act like that. :-) .... but GUI-related problems are a bit cumbersome to hunt down as they are so many system-specific variables in that respect.

I see that you're using several computers. Is there any remote desktop-application involved? Does the MIR Icon work with other instruments, on other VE Pro channels? Any chance to see some screenshost or the like?

BTW - I strongly suggest _not_ to use Vienna Instruments-specific Instrument Profiles for any other sound source (even if they carry a similar name, by incident). These Profiles are highly specific and will very likely cause undpredictable results when used with other input signals. There are so-called General Purpose-profiles which are meant to get used with generic signal sources.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Dietz

MIRpro is running on VEPro6 on my main Mac (6.1 High Sierra 10.13.3).

Take a look at the video.

The moment I create a channel with an AU instance of Kontakt 5 the GUI stops to work.

But when I do the same but with an VST instance of Kontakt 5 the GUI works ok!

    @Stig Christensen said:

So I select "Brass - 64 Horn Ensemble 4" in the instrument box, but I can't move the icon or control ANY of the  parameters from the icon.

Is this a bug or is it supposed to be like that?

I can control the parameters from the box but not from the icon!

    Any help much appreciated.

Try popping the MIR window out of the main window and then popping it back in. That works for me.

  • Hi Stig,

watching your video it seems as your VE Pro Frame isn't connected to the host, or at least it is inactive for whatever reason. Does it help to connect?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Leigh

I had the same problem. Your solutions (MIR window popping in and out) helped me to move the icons in MIR Pro again. Thanks!

    Best, Mehdi

  • Hi
I know this is a bit late, but thanks a lot for your help!!

  • :-D Better late than never. So I'll mark this as SOLVED then.

  • Is it intended by default that you have to pop out (and back in) the MIR-window

to be able to move the icons around (or change any parameter)? I noticed this weird behavior

since about 1 year, not a big deal but sometimes annoying (I think on mac osx only, but

    I'm not sure...)

  • Like I wrote in my initial reply to this thread: No, this is of course not the intended behaviour. :-)

I'm sorry to hear that you're running into this issue from time to time, but I have never experienced it myself (working on various machines and operating systems all the time). Even more important: I think VSL software engineers weren't able to reproduce the problem, up to now ...

I hardly dare to say it, but at the moment the undocking/redocking workaround seems to be the least obtrusive solution. :-/

    Kind regards,

  • Good to know and thanks for clarifcation (sorry, I didn't read much carefully).

It definitly doesn't occure on my window 7 system, but constantly on Mac (under different OSXs).

So I suspect it's the graphic card.

  • I periodically have same trouble on macOS. So, popping window fixing it, thanks for a hint. Is it possible to fix it in MIR?
