Can anyone direct me on where there might be detailed information on keyswitching. I am using Pro Tool 12 and VSL special edition.

Well, if PT is like any other DAW you should have a Piano Roll view, or whatever the PT equivalent is. The keyswitches should be programed opposite what ever the instrument range is so, for example, you would program the flute keyswitches down from C2 to B2 then say matrices at C3 to how ever many matrices you have. Don't forget to tell the Vienna player to switch articulations by keyswitches which should be laid out in the videos.
Now where things get confusing is if your DAW recognizes a different middle C then what VSL does. I think VSL has it at C4 but a lot of DAWs see C5 as middle C which means everything is off by an octave. I can't remember if there is a way to change that in Vienna to match what your DAW has.
Then assuming that you've routed the MIDI correctly it should work. Some common pitfalls:
Programing keyswitches in the wrong octave
Forgetting to choose "keyswitches" in the Vienna Player drop down.
Forgetting to program a keyswitch for a matrice change.
Beat Kuafmann has some tutorials that illustrates this better but I think you have to pay for them.
