  • Hello Dietz

I have ask you a few questions why dont you answer to my questions ! are you angry with me ?

  • Cyril, Marnix from VSL Support already asked you to get in contact with him. He has a Logic-centered setup at his disposal and will hopefully be able guide you step by step through the issues you seem to encounter.

    ... please, don't hi-jack threads with off-topic messages. Thanks!

  • Hello Dietz and Marnix

On  my side I have been testing solutions and I have improvements and the problem is well encircle

    - The engine is not fast enought to treat eight notes at 54 bpm !!! or is missing end of notes

I have ask you both 3 basic question :

    • Is VE using CPU power for a VI that is not used ?
    • If I mute a VI does it uses power too ?
    • From your experience what is the max number of VI used should I get on my Macpro

why cant I get an aswer ? is is secret ?
So it is your fault if I have hyjacked this discussion

  • Cyril, I know it is always VSL's fault in your eyes.

  • Is there anyone, who tried these presets, please? How does it sounds?

I have no ready-made demo at hand, but Jay Bacal used a similar setup to Herb's "Full Orchestra" in his version of Star Wars' "Main Theme". Jay used the Teldex Studio in its "wide" orientation, but the sonic signature is more or less the same.

  • I try to use this Preset on my older composition. It sounds very good! Great work! I was trying to experiment with the orientation of room. Both has pro and cons, of course. :-)
In the "long" orientation, I feel the long space much more, of course. I feel, the music is in front of me. The sound is little bit darker, I think. But there are limitation in the left-right field. I feel, the players are by the wall very close on sides.
In the "wide" orientation, the sound is more brith for me. I fell, I'm more "in" the music, "in" the orchestra, which plays around me. But there are limitation of lenght of the room. I feel the wall opposite me. The left-right field is much more bigger. This is very nice.
For me, the "long" orientation looks better for "concert-halls" simulation in the studio. The "wide" orientation is better for real studio ("Hollywood") recordings, I think.
    In any case, it's amazing!

  • I just bought Roompack 2 and downloaded Herb's preset. Unfortunately I am only using MIR24 and therefore am getting errors when trying to open it. Is there a way to open it using MIR24? I'd love to take a closer look at what he did there...

    Best,
    Tina

  • Hello Tina,

I have just sent you a demo activation code for MIR Pro to your registered email address - have fun with Herb´s Preset!

    Best, Marnix
