  • VSL interface

I compose with Finale and I have Pro Tools LE 6 but now I would like to buy a new computer and Cubase to use the VSL samples and the Human Playback of Finale. I don't know how it works and so I would like to know if there is an interface on VSL that permits to control sounds and in which way because I'm afraid that I spend money for the best samples but the results are not good. When I compose on Finale I don't use a MIDI instrument (I play the guitar) but use the simple tools to put the notes.

    What do you tell me?

    Thanks, Orald.

  • Hello Orald!

Our libraries can be used with Finale 2009 or higher, Cubase, Pro Tools (and of course others as well) - Pro Tools LE 6 should also work.

We prepeared Finale Human Playback Preferences for our Special Edition Volumes 1 to 4. Articulations will be changed automatically according to your notation marks.

For our other libraries we made a keyswitch dump file for Finale. After loading these settings, it's possible to add keyswitches and Control Change data to your score in order to change articulations.

In general it's easier to make good sounding playbacks with DAW software than with notation software.

  • Thank you Andi. But I need two more answers: what is a DAW? and I've seen that the special editions cost lesser than the normal so I would like to know if also the quality is worse...

    Thank you again, Orald.

  • Hi Orald!

DAW stands for Digital Audio Workstation. Some examples are Cubase, Logic and Pro Tools.

The Special Editions contain less samples and articulations than our bigger Instrument collections. The quality is the same.

    Best regards,
    Andi
