  • How to add Logic X instruments to an instance?

    Hi,

I've got Ve Pro set up both on master and slave. I can add my Kontakt instruments easily in both master and slave, but where are Logic's own software intruments/EXS24 etc? Nothing there except Apple's Au sampler and DLS music device?

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks.

  • Logic's own virtual instruments and plugins are not standart Audio Units. They are not accessible outside Logic by any host.

  • So I can't slave off anything from Logic?

  • I mean, if I want to say re-route a piano from exs via vep to a slave it can't be done...only sofware outside of logic can be routed through vep?

    Thanks.

  • Unfortunatly, you won't be able to host Logic X instruments inside VEP or any other host than Logic. it's the same with Cubase own instruments...

If you want to slave Logic X instrument you'll need

-Logic X on the slave computer

-Send midi from master to slave with two midi interface OR the network midi port from osx Audio Midi Setup OR

    MIDI over Lan software

-Send audio back to the master computer (two Hardware audio interfaces or a virtual audio cable may exist but i don't know about it)

It's a bit complex to set up...

  • Hi thanks.

I must have totally misunderstood vep.

I though I could spread out some of the software instruments in Logic via vep. I've also got a couple of piano's (from imperfect) on EXS24 that are choking up my system, and hoped vep would help sort these out. I can't believe I missed the NOT being able to re-route Logic's own instruments parts. Teach me for not paying attention.

I've asked Imperfect to re-send the downloads so I can re-load into Kontakt, but they have so far ignored my request :(

Thanks for the answers, and for being patient with a numnut :)
