Vienna MIR PRO is a network-capable mixing solution for Mac and PC, based on Multi Impulse Response convolution. It merges all parts of the creative process – composition, orchestration and mixing – into a single intuitive workflow. The software offers a holistic approach to the spatial modeling of virtual orchestras, allowing the user to interact with the players more like a conductor than an engineer. Its innovative multi-parameter Vienna MIR PRO replaces conventional faders and pan pots and offers concise control for positioning each instrument on the virtual stage, changing its volume and stereo width, and even rotating it within a fluid three-dimensional environment.Vienna MIR PRO combines specific directional frequency profiles with reflectional information from every instrument, assembling all of the acoustic interactions into an accurate and satisfying recreation of musicians playing their instruments in place and in space. Vienna MIR PRO is much more than just “a multi-sample” of a hall – and this is where it far surpasses any other convolution reverb available on the market. Vienna MIR PRO is multi-source, multi-directional, multi-positional, and multi-format.
Vienna MIR PRO comes as a dedicated plug-in in the formats AU, VST, AAX Native and RTAS, allowing you to run it directly in your favorite sequencer or DAW. Additionally, our cross-platform MIDI and audio LAN solution http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/497/1687/2002/1691.htm allows for a comfortable one-click integration of Vienna MIR PRO.
There is no table, because it's hard to compare apples with pears. :-)
Let me try to distil the most important points for you:
- MIR Pro and MIRx are different products. The latter represents only a subset of the possibilities of the former and serves different needs.
- All settings available for MIRx are derived from MIR Pro.
- MIRx is an extension for Vienna Instruments software [EDIT: free and Pro version] , thus it can be used with Vienna Instruments exclusively. MIR Pro will work as a plug-in inside your DAW, Vienna Ensemble or (even more powerful) inside VE Pro, thus it can be used for any audio signal.
- MIR Pro and MIRx use different data and storage formats.
- MIR Pro allows for free positioning and rotation of any signal in any available MIR Venue. MIRx offers fixed positions for Vienna Instruments in three [EDIT] six + one selected MIR Venues.
- MIR Pro allows for the free choice of Main and Secondary Microphones and theĂr positions in any available MIR Venue. MIRx offers fixed positions for one set of Microphones in three [EDIT] six + one selected MIR Venues.
- MIR Pro allows for free definition of all virtual Microphone capsules and their arrays, supplying an almost indefinite number of stereo- and surround-output formats of up to eight channels. MIRx offers one fixed stereo setup, optimized for each of the three [EDIT] six + one available Venues.
- MIR Pro's unique GUI invites the user to interact with the virtual players directly on a virtual stage. MIRx has no interactive GUI.
- MIR Pro's algorithmic reverb add-on, "MIRacle", isn't available for MIRx.
- Many other features of MIR Pro aren't available in MIRx either, like the Venues' RoomTones, scalable Reverb Times, variable Instrument Character Presets, detailed Dry Signal handling options, preset-management, and so on.
- MIR Pro and MIRx will give you identical sonic results and similar workflow, provided the same settings are used within MIR Pro's "MIRx Mode". These settings can be changed according to individual needs and tastes in MIR Pro, but not in MIRx.
- MIRx costs less than MIR Pro.
HTH,
Hello
Thanks for your help
Best regards

Hi Guillaume,
You can always find "your price" on the MIR product page if you are logged in.
The RoomPacks will work with MIR Pro just like they did in MIR Pro 24 (no additional license necessary).
MIRx is the "smaller brother" of MIR Pro, it is designed to work in VI / PRO only and does not have any connections to the bigger Roompacks (also no upgrade paths there).
Best,
Paul
