Solo strings playback in Sibelius 6
Hello, I'm scoring a piece for Solo Violin in Sibelius 6 and using the solo violin instrument from the Solo Strings pack (at least I assume I'm using that one and not the instrument from my Special Edition). Anway, I notice that at times the playability of the instrument is either polyphonic or monophonic - but I'm not sure what is triggering it to be monophonic. In my score I have written double/triple/quadruple stops at bits, and I've assigned these to different 'Voices' in the Sibelius score so that it looks easier on the eye for the player. I am not sure if this is what has caused playback to suddenly go monophonic - I'm only getting the top note (set to Voice 1 on the Sibelius keypad) with clipped versions of the below notes of the violin stops (all set Voice 2). I know that initially this was playing back fine, polyphonically, but then I copied a bar to repeat later in the score and that's when I got the monophonic playback. When I playback using sounds from Sibelius' own 'Sounds Essentials' I don't get this monophonic clipping. Do you know what the problem might be? Many Thanks! xx

Hello googoo!
Please notice that our performance interval patches (like legato) are monophonic. So if you have a slur above these double/triple/quadruple stops, you will only hear one note. If you exclude the slur from playback, the sustain patch gets triggered and you will be able to hear all voices. You can exclude notes and notation marks from playback in the Sibelius 6 menu Properties/Playback/Play on pass 1. (In Sibelius 7 the properties window is called Inspector).
Our Vienna Instruments Pro player has a polyphonic legato mode. More about Vienna Instruments Pro can be found at the following location:
