  • ASIO driver problem with VEP, and Hammerfall 9652.

i'm attempting to run VEP in non server mode.  with my hammerfall 9652.  windows 7.  my hammerfall cards works perfectly fine with other audio programs (eg.  kontakt or PLAY in standalone).  so the card and driver are good.  yet, when attempting to run VEP 64 bit.  on program start i get a dialog box which reads "could not start audio device: ASIO: ASIO HammerFall DSP"

what's the problem here?  thanks.  r

  • please help...

  •  Well, this might not exactly help, but I have the same problem with my Emu 1820m with VI Pro. When I start I always get a "Device could not be opened" error on the E-MU E-DSP device, but this is the WDM driver which I don't use for VI Pro, I use the Emu ASIO driver, so I have to just click on OK on the error, and then the ASIO driver is used and everything is OK, if I disable the WDM driver, then all errors go and all is OK, but I need the WDM driver for other things such as media player and all things online, so I cannot disable it.
What we need is a way to stop VI Pro trying to use drivers that it shouldn't be trying to use.

  • thanks andy.  my problem is actually with the ASIO driver itself.  could i please get a tech to provide some help here?  thank you
