  • ATTENTION ALL LOGIC PRO HOST USERS

For anyone who is having audible pops and clicks using Vienna Ensemble Pro and/or Vienna Instruments Pro

with Logic Pro and have exhausted all means to locate the issue, then hear this:  Logic Pro's plug-ins are 32-bit

plug-ins (even if you are using the 64-bit version of the host application).  For some reason the bridge from the

32-bit Logic plug-ins to the 64-bit primary host program is having syncing problems or buffer-underrun issues using

the Vienna software tools.  I cannot re-create this with any other 3rd party tools.  I specifically had this happen with

Delay Designer when I was trying to layer 7 stereo images into a < 30 ms time window for a great mix.  Anyways,

that is something to watch for.

  • Simply not true. All the included Logic plug-ins are not AUs but part of Logic's code and when you boot into Logic Pro 9.1 64 bit, EVERYTHING in Logic is 64 bit, which is why you will notice the 32 bit bridge does not open unless/until you instantiate a third party 32 bit plug-in. And I am not having these kind of problems with either VE Pro's 64 bit or 32 bit server connected to Logic.

  • The vienna instrument plugin has been 64 bit for a while now, meaning the 32 bit bridge isn't needed for it.  Are you using the latest version?
