Assuming I install VEPro on a MacPro Quad to use as the slave....... and on a MacBook Pro to use as the actual DAW. A Pro Tools equipped recording computer. Now I hook these together and I want to make my sessions in the laptop, but host all my VI's and samples in the MacPro.
Making things easy and only considering a single library for now, like say EWQL Symphonic Orchestra or even VSL to keep it in house. (Not fortunate enough to have that yet-one day)
So, I understand that the library samples themselves can be kept on the slave on an internal Hard drive, an external hard drive or even a separate 3rd computer.
What about the actual player "engine" though, for whatever library it is? In the case of EWQLSO the actual PLAY engine portion of the software.
Where does this have to reside? Can it be only in the slave computer or does it have to be on the main recording computer, or both?
It seems that if these could eventually be removed completely from the laptop, it would help with space as well as maybe even some efficiency as I have been told the more apps you have on a laptop, the slower it runs- even if they aren't open.
Thanks.
