  • Cubase only seeing one MIDI Port for VEP Vst - SOLVED!

When I go to route my MIDI output for the MIDI tracks in Cubase to the VST for VEP I only have one port to select from which means only 16 MIDI channels on that single port. I have set the server to have 32 ports and they show in VEP but I don't know how to select them in Cubase. How do I select the other ports in Cubase to route to VEP?

  • P.S. I am using the trial version to see if I can get it all to work prior to purchase. I think from what I read that I need to use the VST3 plug but I don't know how to check which one is installed and being used and how to find the VST3 one if I am using the wrong one.

  • Load the one in the VSTi rack that has /// next to the name.

  • Thats what I thought, but this one seems to freeze and crash cubase everytime I try to load it.

  • Try setting the Preferences to 8 or 16 ports and less VSTi Outputs and see if it makes any difference.

  • Also, if you're using Cubase 4, make sure to upgrade it to the latest version. The first versions didn't fully support VST3.

  • Changing the number of Midi Ports and Audio ports fixed it! Thanks!
