1. What's the best way to set up Automation in Logic so that the Instruments on the VEPro servers are able to process it correctly?
I'm struggling particularly with Volume automation... CC7 messages on individual MIDI tracks affect the output of the entire VE Instance.
I've tried applying a Transformer to the Multi-Instrument in the Environment so that CC7 messages within Logic are sent to the VEPro server on CC27. (As suggested by Tobias on his Novatlan tutorial: http://www.novatlan-sound.de/downloads/tutorials/tutorial_orchestral_template.pdf - which was very useful btw.) But I then have to go into each VEPro instrument and assign CC27 to Volume (or Amplitude/ whatever setting controls the Instrument output level.) This only works in a few customizable instruments. RealStrat for instance doesn't seem to accept anything but CC7 as a Volume control.
CC11 (Expression) seems to work on a few Instruments but not on others.
2. Is there any way of custom naming Channels in the VEPro Mixer?
I'm referring particularly to Input Channels. I have a couple of Multi-Out EXDrummer Instruments on my 32-bit server, and have assigned individual EZDrummer outputs to separate Inputs in the VEPRo Mixer, so that I can put separate Waves effects on the BD, SD, HH etc. There doesn't seem to be a way to name the Input tracks... Perhaps it isn't possible...
Question for Vienna Ensemble Pro engineers:
Would it be possible to create a MIDI settings option in each VEPro Instance/Project where we can globally change/filter incoming MIDI messages from the host so that they are received correctly by the instruments in the Project? I believe that this is an AU limitation?
Thanks for your help and for an awesome product. It has really opened up the 7 lazy processors on my MacPro.
Peace.
