Hello,
I bought C4 and RME 9632 , but I am disappointed , if I can read the midi file , I couldn't record it with an audio file in real time ...
How to program the settings for both ???
Thank You ...

Please , tell me : How do have You configurate ??? because as DG said I route my vst out put to group but it doesn't works to go inside the audio track... I want to do a global recording of my sequence in real time , as I did before , on the audio track, what is wrong on the tracking ???
Do have You done something in the card mixer ???
Thank You to give me an help .
ok,
What do yo want to to? record , for example, a voice from you mixer? or a midi VST sequence?
The VST instrument, I use Kontakt 2 or EWSO for example, and then I export all as wave.
In the configuration I use adat inputs because the sound come from a yamaha mixer conected to RME with optical conection.
With other programs you can record?, for example Soundforge?
Greetings
Thank You,
What i wish to do is to record all my sequence ( 32 parts midi ) in one or more ( but if one to start will be great ) audio track ... I try since 5 days to record a vst instrument ( midi ) in a audio track ( as recorder ) as I always do, i don't know ( yet ) why my audio track couldn't record what I done in the midi sequence, I always done this way , I wish someone can give an answer of the reason why it doesn't work... without using mix down ...

Now hang on a minute. You are now asking a different question. There are two parts to this. Are you asking for a real time audio mixdown or rendering your VSTi to an audio track?
To get a real time mixdown you just have to check real time in the audio export box and then also tick import to audio track (I think that's what the box is called). However, if you want to hear the mixdown as it happens then this is done from the Control Room. If you can't figure that out, then do what I suggested. Route all tracks to a Group (call it master fader, for example) and then route that group to an audio track which is record enabled. Then set your left locator to the start of your sequence and click the record button. Note that you have to be using Cubase 4.1 or higher for this to work. If you are using an old version you don't necessarily have this routing option.

I really appreciate Your wise answers , what i tend ( in vain ) to do is rendering my VSTi ( midi ) to an audio track ... I don't use the mix down since the audio track is able to record what my midi files ( or sequence ) have done ... So I hope that I am able to do as I always do by this way, I know it is a question of routing misfunction , I triyed to do something as a midi track route to group track but was unable to route correctly to audio track (in )...Help...

Mixdown is the best way to do this. However, if you don't want to do it this way, the only way you can do it is to route the VSTi Output to a Group channel, and then route the Group channel to an audio track. remember this will only work on Cubase 4.1 and above. If you are using an earlier version you will have to do it via mixdown.
FWIW I always use mixdown and usually with a program called MEAP, so that I can set it going, make a cup of tea and it's all done.

Dear DG
"....and then route the Group channel to an audio track." At this point I have only the stereo output as connection from the GROUP TRACK...
I have the C 4.1... I know we are on a Vienna forum, Now vienna works well with my configuration , but not recording ...
Sorry. I thought that I was clear, but on re-reading I can see how you could have misunderstood.
You need to set the Input on your audio track to the Group Channel that you created.
DG Dear DG thank You for Your helps , i am happy to say everythings works fine , I bought to add some sounds a synth that emulate the DX7 , The Vienna Special edition works great under XP 64 and its 8 gigas of RAM , I have a commission to orchestrate a piece , I am happy about how it sounds with this VSL orchestra, Thank You so much again !!!
