  • Forum Date Display

Is it possible to make a setting that displays the date in the correct order of day/month/year. Can't tell at the moment if posts are 12th March or 3rd December. The European and UK system is Day/Month/Year yes? Thanks Julian

And the only system that actually makes sense. [;)]

  • julian, in your community profile http://community.vsl.co.at/user/editprofile.aspx you can set the timezone and select your preferred format for date and time out of several options.

the server as such has been set to GMT (no winter/summer time switching) to better correlate with datetime in emails.

for the user area we choose to display the so-called finnish datetime eg 2007-12-04 01:15 (YYYY:MM:DD hh:mm) as GMT which somewhen in the seventies has been intended to become the standardized international formatting ... without succeeding of course ;-)

i've already considered to synchronize timezone and formatting for the user area with the settings from the community profile, but then the file-date and the displayed date will differ in most cases ... might be even more confusing ...

  • Thanks Christian, I do understand the reverse date format for the file dates as when you display them in a computer finder window they actually display in correct date order if you have it set to Alphabet (if you see what I mean!) julian
